Project: Freeport LNG Project

Freeport LNG

Quintana Island, Texas, USA

Scope of Work
Large scale LNG export facility with a total production capacity of 13.2 MTPA. The facility was originally developed as an import terminal in 2008 and later expanded to include LNG export capabilities. The Freeport LNG Terminal includes three electric driven LNG production trains that receive treated feed gas from three offsite located natural gas pre-treatment units connected to the liquefaction unit via a 10 mile long 42-inch pipeline. The projects includes three 160,000 m3 full containment LNG storage tanks, two marine berths capable of accommodating LNG carriers up to 200,000 m3 in size, Boil-Off Gas compression system to supply fuel gas to the pre-treatment system power generation system, refrigerant unloading systems and utilities. LNG from the Freeport LNG Terminal is exported to Free-Trade and Non-Free Agreement countries as approved US Department of Energy. Freeport LNG has also received FERC approval to construct a fourth LNG Train with a production capacity of 5.1 MTPA.
